Welcoming a new baby into the family is always a special occasion, but for proud parents, Morgan and Dr. Jay, the arrival of their son Asher was even more meaningful. Asher was adopted at birth and became the newest member of their family, and I got to photograph his baby photos!
Asher has two older siblings: sixteen-year-old Davis, and thirteen-year-old Lexie. I already know that they are going to be amazing siblings. Davis loves engineering and architecture, and he can tell you anything and everything about the World Trade Center. Lexie, on the other hand, is extremely musical and artistic. With both sides covered, I’m sure his new family are super excited to see which direction he takes to.
But for this newborn session, we lived in the present as we captured Asher’s first photos. It was such a joy to work with this family. His parents were over the moon to finally have him in their arms, and it was clear to see that Asher already has everyone wrapped around his finger.
Morgan and Dr. Jay described Asher as a gift from above. His adoption was practically plopped into their laps. They knew right away that they wanted him to be a part of their family. Without hesitation, they opened up their hearts and home to this little guy.
Asher was born on March 2, 2023. Dr. Jay is an OB/GYN, and he actually had the pleasure of delivering his own son. Morgan, who is a nurse practitioner, got to cut the cord. Needless to say, this was a special moment for their family.
One thing that also made this newborn session extra special is that both grandmothers were able to join us. It was such a pleasure to meet them and watch them interact with their newest grandchild!
During our session, Morgan, Dr. Jay, and I took lots of cuddle and feeding breaks. The studio makes babies hungry! His big brother and sister were so patient with him too, even when Asher needed a break here or there.
As I looked back on the baby photos from this session, it’s already clear that Asher is such an integral part of their family. His arrival has really brought everyone closer together! This family loves to travel and spend time together, so Asher will have a strong, living home to guide him through life.
Morgan and Dr. Jay are looking forward to framing their new photos to place around their house and office. They also expressed interest in putting together an album! Without a doubt, these are some of the best ways to keep your photos visible throughout the years. If you only keep digital photos, it’s so hard to see them in every day life!
Thank you so much, Morgan and Sudheer, for booking me as your newborn photographer! I’m so glad that you reached out to me. Documenting these early moments for you was an honor. Little ones come and grow so fast, so having professional baby photos to look back on will be such a treasure for you, both now and in the future.
